Pippa Blake
About the work in Transept:Traverse
My work for Transept:Traverse focuses on the actual 900 years of the Cathedral’s construction and fabrication. I have used nine Perspex panels each 10 ml thick contained within a Perspex frame. Between each layer I have arranged fragments of tissue and acetate film which have been digitally printed with images photographed from each century of the Cathedral’s existence. My intention is to encapsulate the nine hundred years history within the layers inwardly creating a box of time and memory whilst outwardly reflecting light and imagery from the 21st Century.
