Hibernia Prow I, oil on canvas 213cm x 183cm
Pippa Blake was born in 1954 in Portsmouth, England. She studied Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art from 1972 - 1976 where she gained BA Hons in Painting (First Class). In 2005 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma (Distinction) in Visual Art at West Dean College, West Sussex.
Blake shows her work internationally in solo and group shows. I work on a large-scale, predominately using oil on canvas, as well as making small working studies using mixed media and digital imagery. My subject matter is landscape based used metaphorically expressing emotion, feeling, atmosphere and mood. Within this scope I use memory and experience, prose and poetry to inform the work.
