  My work reflects aspects of social interaction such as communication of thought and emotion through facial expressions, colour and language.  I use pattern and repetition and work both with visual layers and layers of meaning. This is my way of making sense of the chaos and cacophony of modern life and its multiplicity of concerns.

  My core practice is patchwork where cutting apart and reassembling – destruction and reconstruction – are key elements, whether I am working with textiles, film, sound or with found materials, particularly those of paper.

  I expect my work to be initially seen and enjoyed as pattern and colour. On further inspection, the multiple layers of images and sometimes sounds allow a deeper spectrum of interpretation.
