I have an eclectic, intuitive approach to amassing different materials with which to work. My work tends to be in the exploration of visual and verbal remnants. Detritus from everyday living, whether found in the street or of a more personal nature, surfaces that have faded and disintegrated through age. I often use paper in my work, and treat it by leaving it outside for several weeks, causing erosion and patterns of decay, a shifting process which makes me aware of residual impressions. I look at how things are marked and by what they are marked with.
Anne gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Chichester in 2002, her degree show work was specifically chosen to be exhibited at West Dean College during its’ summer exhibition, New Ways of Looking. She has exhibited in group shows, recently in Southampton and created a large installation in paper for the Minerva Theatre to coincide with the ‘ Out of This World’ 2004 season. Her work is also in a private contemporary art collection.
Anne works part time for Pallant House Gallery within its’ education department, been employed as a community artist for the Chichester Festival Theatre Carnival and currently for the Festivities.
